2016 Dartmouth Book Award winners

On April 27, 2016 at the Capitol Theatre in Moncton, New Brunswick, the Atlantic Book Awards gala was held.  At this prestigious event the three Dartmouth Book Awards winners were announced.  Janet Maybee won the Robbie Robertson Dartmouth Book Award for Nonfiction presented by the Kiwanis Club of Dartmouth for Aftershock.  This compelling book tells the story of Pilot Mackey who became the scapegoat for the Halifax Explosion.  The Dartmouth Book Awards also had a double winner in Sarah Mian for her debut novel When the Saints.  Sarah won both the Jim Connors Dartmouth Book Award for Fiction presented by BoyneClarke LLP and the Margaret & John Savage First Book Award.

The Dartmouth Book Awards committee would like to congratulate these two worthy winners and say a special thank you to our sponsors, BoyneClarke LLP, Collins Barrow LLP, Kiwanis Club of Dartmouth, I Love Renovations, Transdynamic Services Ltd, Heritage House Law Office, Weed Man Maritimes, and the Savage family.
